What is an Adonomics Stats Report?

The Adonomics Stats Report is a way for Facebook application developers to publish statistics about their application in an open format. You have control over who can see the data, so you don't have to worry about competitors taking it and using it to their advantage. By default the only public way to access the data is through Adonomics.

What does it track, exactly?

The reports track information about how many users you have, how many people have installed your application, and how many have removed it. The format is designed to be extensible so that, in theory, you could report any stat about your application you wanted. For now, though, these are the "officially" tracked stats.

Why would I want to do this?

We think there are lots of reasons why you'd want to use the Adonomics Stats Reports. Here are three:

1. Right now you're at the mercy of Facebook. Facebook controls the metrics which means they control how much your application is worth. They can and have changed the rules of the game and there's no reason to think they wouldn't do it again. By reporting your stats through the Adonomics Stats Reports we can come up with an independently verifiable estimate for the value of your application, one which is no longer tied to Facebook's decisions.
2. You get bragging rights. Facebook is no longer tracking the absolute number of users but that doesn't mean it's not worth something. By creating multiple metrics your application can shine in multiple ways. Good press means more users, and getting more users is the first step towards creating a successful application.
3. Better data about ad performance. More and more people are turning to advertising to promote their apps, whether it's through SocialMedia, The Lookery, or another system. By tracking your data in a unified way we can correlate your advertising campaign performance across multiple advertising networks. This guarantees you're getting the most out of your dollar.

How do I start?

Go to your application's detail page (easiest way to do this is to enter your application's id in the chart apps section on the home page and clicking the "Chart it!" button). Next, find the section that says "Did you develop this application?" and click "Confirm it!" (this associates your account with the application in our system and takes you to your account page). Once you have confirmed an application you can edit the Adonomics Stats Report link to pull data from. The account page has information on how to format the file.
